Teabagging Returning in Halo: Reach

It seems as though the current build of Halo: Reach has a significant bug. This bug returns a dead player’s screen back to the respawn point, instead of allowing the player time to see if the enemy did any teabagging! Bungie wants to make a point in getting this awesome feature fixed before the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta..

“Title: Teabagging / humiliation moves impossible

Type: Bug

Opened: 3/4/2010 8:53:13 AM

The respawn camera flies back to the spawn location immediately after dying, so your opponents can’t teabag / shoot / melee your body and have a possibility of you seeing it.”

In perhaps more interesting news, Bungie has promised to explain what exactly Headhunter and Invasion modes, teased in the most recent trailer, are in advance of the May 3 beta launch. Stay tuned for the latest.

Besides Geoff trying to get every bit of info out of the Halo: Reach developers, there was only one bit of information that was of any particular interest. During the interview with Brian Jarrard, Geoff asked if there where going to be dual-wielding in Halo: Reach. Brian had this to say:

“uh.. you know, i don’t think i’ve seen dual-weilding in the game yet”

This isn’t a definitive answer, especially because of the “yet” at the end. Draw your own conclusion and leave a comment.

The Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta is dated for May 3rd 2010. One map is given out, PowerHouse. The assumption is that this map will be playable come May 3rd.

“Utility and economy spurred industry amidst these isolated and unforgiving badlands, but like all infrastructure facilities on Reach, this hydroelectric site is under the purview of the UNSC war machine. All threats to the continued, predictable operation of humanity’s final line of defense must be met with swift and decisive force.”

Bungie also tells us that we can expect a brand spanking new VidDoc soon along with some new imagery. This all comes as a prequal to Microsoft’s X10 Expo Where Bungie plans to release this and more. If you haven’t picked up Halo 3: ODST, now is the time!

Impressions Plus New Reach Images!

Gamereactor’s Jonas Mäki Has the scoop on Halo: Reach after getting to experience the game first hand. This is one article you’ll not want to pass up. Here is a taste of what Jonas has written about:

“Since then I have had a month to digest and think about my impression from the visit. Halo: Reach will definitely stick out from the rest of the Halo games, since it is guaranteed not to get a sequel and includes more new elements than any other instalment in the series (with the exception of Halo Wars). Halo: Reach is likely to be Bungie’s final farewell to the series, and after it comes out they will look to create new titles in what will most likely original game worlds as the independent developers they have once again become.

A half-assed Halo: Reach would lead to lower expectations on the next game from Bungie, so there is no room for complacency. And Bungie are very proud of everything they have achieved with the Halo series in terms of critical acclaim, awards, sales numbers and perhaps most importantly response from fans. Therefore it is important to go out with a bang, and after my visit I believe that is exactly what they will do.”
