“Utility and economy spurred industry amidst these isolated and unforgiving badlands, but like all infrastructure facilities on Reach, this hydroelectric site is under the purview of the UNSC war machine. All threats to the continued, predictable operation of humanity’s final line of defense must be met with swift and decisive force.” Bungie also tells us that we can expect a brand spanking new VidDoc soon along with some new imagery. This all comes as a prequal to Microsoft’s X10 Expo Where Bungie plans to release this and more. If you haven’t picked up Halo 3: ODST, now is the time!
Bungie drops the first bombshell of what will probably be a series of bombshells released in the near future. The Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta is dated for May 3rd 2010. One map is given out, PowerHouse. The assumption is that this map will be playable come May 3rd.
30 new Halo: Reach images from the campaign have made their way onto the internet. XXLGaming seems to have the goods but their server is being hit pretty hard at the moment so you may have to wait until the dust settles before you can take a look. We’ll host the images here on HRI when we get a chance. Update: Nothing to see here but a slew of old images. You’re better off heading to the official Halo: Reach project page if you want to drool over something. Gamereactor’s Jonas Mäki Has the scoop on Halo: Reach after getting to experience the game first hand. This is one article you’ll not want to pass up. Here is a taste of what Jonas has written about: “Since then I have had a month to digest and think about my impression from the visit. Halo: Reach will definitely stick out from the rest of the Halo games, since it is guaranteed not to get a sequel and includes more new elements than any other instalment in the series (with the exception of Halo Wars). Halo: Reach is likely to be Bungie’s final farewell to the series, and after it comes out they will look to create new titles in what will most likely original game worlds as the independent developers they have once again become. A half-assed Halo: Reach would lead to lower expectations on the next game from Bungie, so there is no room for complacency. And Bungie are very proud of everything they have achieved with the Halo series in terms of critical acclaim, awards, sales numbers and perhaps most importantly response from fans. Therefore it is important to go out with a bang, and after my visit I believe that is exactly what they will do.” …
No source is given but the images seem to have stemmed from allgamebeta.com. All images carry the EB Games logo in the bottom left but it seems that the EB Games websites doesn’t mention the images.
Geoff Keighly has sent out another tweet concerning Halo: Reach’s appearance at this year’s VGA’s, hosted by Spike. “Let me put the rumors to rest: The HALO: REACH piece at the VGAs will not be CG.” Perhaps Neil Blomkamp might have some involvement…
Update: We’ve replaced the images with the original images, thanks to this Neogaf thread. A user on the MLG message board posted what appears to be leaked images from Halo: Reach, or so he claims. Thanks to bravenewgamer.com for the heads up.
If you haven’t read the latest Bungie Weekly Update, I’d recommend doing so. Even if they don’t give out a ton of new information, they’re still fun to read. The latest update has a few pictures of fan-made Halo cars in Forza 3. There’s an ODST themed car, as well as a Halo: Reach car.
A few Halo fans took the time to setup a staged Halo: Reach screenshot using Halo 3. Not much more information is known, not even the original author is mentioned, nonetheless, pretty sweet image. Source: ForgeHub
By this time you’ve probably seen enough of that same old image that Bungie released along with the Trailer at E3. Well, i think we can safely say the the group of soldiers shadowed or silhouettes are now identified as The Characters from Eric Nylund’s novel Halo:The Fall of Reach. The soldier in the center is none other than the Master chief himself. For full details about this hit THIS link to view the original article by SKOAR.
