ViDoc #1, uniquely named, Once More Unto the Breach. This 8 minute video shows off some in-game footage and AI along with comparisons of past Halo games. Once More Unto the Breach stresses the fact that Halo: Reach will be more expansive, more detailed and have a wider variety of weapons and vehicles.
Bungie drops the first bombshell of what will probably be a series of bombshells released in the near future. The Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta is dated for May 3rd 2010. One map is given out, PowerHouse. The assumption is that this map will be playable come May 3rd.
PowerHouse
“Utility and economy spurred industry amidst these isolated and unforgiving badlands, but like all infrastructure facilities on Reach, this hydroelectric site is under the purview of the UNSC war machine. All threats to the continued, predictable operation of humanity’s final line of defense must be met with swift and decisive force.”
Bungie also tells us that we can expect a brand spanking new VidDoc soon along with some new imagery. This all comes as a prequal to Microsoft’s X10 Expo Where Bungie plans to release this and more. If you haven’t picked up Halo 3: ODST, now is the time!
..Somebody on the internet decides to pass off the very tiring and played-out Crysis Masterchief mod as leaked footage. Earlier this morning a fake video hit the internet, a video that I’ve yet to find.. Never-the-less, it’s fake. Embedded below is a video of the Crysis Masterchief mod in action enjoy.
Halcylon has once again mashed his love of Halo with his mad Phootoshop skills and whipped up piece of artwork we can all appreciate. Halcylon has taken the images that have been released thus far and mixed that in with some Photoshop magic to bring us all one kick **s Halo: Reach poster. …
Bungie decides to put out the fire surrounding recent screenshots released of Halo: Reach’s Campaign. One being the most controversial, the off-centered aimer. Urk tells us that this isn’t intentional, just a bug and even goes as far to give us the bug number, #15163.
I hope you have been paying attention to the big banner to the right. We said we’d be giving away free copies of Halo: Reach and now is the time to deliver! Congratulations to Tayler in Connecticut! Your copy of Reach will ship on the Launch date!
I’d like to take a minute to explain how we are able to do this each month. As you might know, entries require you to fill out a free survey. The survey may be about video games, movies or about shopping. Each time a survey is completed we get a small bit of money, very small actually. Collectively this pays for the copy of Halo: Reach as well as shipping costs for that month. The Giveaway for February has already begun so if your interested hop on over the the Halo: Reach Giveaway page and submit your entry. Make sure to use a real email address as this is the way we will be contacting you! Good luck and remember, you can re-enter every month!
30 new Halo: Reach images from the campaign have made their way onto the internet. XXLGaming seems to have the goods but their server is being hit pretty hard at the moment so you may have to wait until the dust settles before you can take a look. We’ll host the images here on HRI when we get a chance.
Update:
Nothing to see here but a slew of old images. You’re better off heading to the official Halo: Reach project page if you want to drool over something. Don’t forget to checkout the Render page, Urk just let us know that some sweet new renders are up!
Gamereactor’s Jonas Mäki Has the scoop on Halo: Reach after getting to experience the game first hand. This is one article you’ll not want to pass up. Here is a taste of what Jonas has written about:
“Since then I have had a month to digest and think about my impression from the visit. Halo: Reach will definitely stick out from the rest of the Halo games, since it is guaranteed not to get a sequel and includes more new elements than any other instalment in the series (with the exception of Halo Wars). Halo: Reach is likely to be Bungie’s final farewell to the series, and after it comes out they will look to create new titles in what will most likely original game worlds as the independent developers they have once again become.
A half-assed Halo: Reach would lead to lower expectations on the next game from Bungie, so there is no room for complacency. And Bungie are very proud of everything they have achieved with the Halo series in terms of critical acclaim, awards, sales numbers and perhaps most importantly response from fans. Therefore it is important to go out with a bang, and after my visit I believe that is exactly what they will do.” …
It seems that GameInformer is not the only Game Mag that is getting a bit of Reach time. Edge also has 8 full length pages of Halo: Reach goodness to offer it’s readers. If you’re not an edge subscriber, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
So maybe the title is a bit misleading but we needed something to draw you in to this otherwise tame tidbit of news. In a recent interview with Edge, creative director Marcus Lehto gets a little serious when he mentions the inevitable outcome of Reach.
“‘Reach’ is like ‘Titanic’ — we know the end from the beginning,”
“‘Reach’ is going to fall and 700 million people are going to perish as a result. It’s a very dark story to tell, and our goal is to allow the player to experience Noble Team’s efforts and get satisfaction from them continuing to fight forward and achieve the final acts of what we can’t talk about today.”
Hit the jump to read the full interview, it’s a good read to say the least.…
